In November 2023, Autism Works Here came into existence, a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing hope for young adults with unique abilities seeking their place in the workforce.
We believe in the power of inclusive opportunities and building safe, structured environments where potential blooms. We are not training for menial tasks. We are empowering future contributors and skilled professionals in the making.
Our programs are about fostering confidence, independence, and instilling the powerful belief of “I can”. Our commitment lies in creating pathways that lead to meaningful contributions, where their unique talents are valued and embraced. At Autism Works Here, we are building more than skills; we are nurturing dreams and shaping brighter futures.
Very early in our families journey, Nancy Chillino had a single focus on helping families achieve the goals of their children with special needs. She saw Autistic young adults in the Lake Nona community brimming with unique abilities and potential yet facing doors closed shut in the face of neurodiversity.
She realized that employers hesitated in hiring them as they were unsure in their ability to blend in with the existing team and infrastructure. This uncertainty often stemmed from a lack of resources, knowledge, or experience in creating an inclusive environment. Nancy knew this had to be changed and this marked the start of her journey.
To empower uniquely abled young adults to develop essential skills, gain confidence, and contribute meaningfully to the community through inclusive opportunities and comprehensive training.

We offer a summer program with in-person training, teaching our students lifelong skills with plans in three critical domains: vocational, social, and life skills. Our team is passionate and resourceful in assisting parents of special needs families reach their goals. We aim to provide our students with the life skills that will help them lead independent lives, contributing to society and the local communities.
